Biden Is The 46th President of The United States

All this time, Joe Biden was leading in every poll. His lead was averaging over 9 points in the national polls. He was slightly lower in Battleground State polls. He was actually leading or tied in Arizona, Iowa, Ohio, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. There was even a poll that had him 4 points down in Kansas — Kansas! The media was attributing to his high poll numbers to COVID, COVID, COVID!

November 3, 2020 — election day — every poll showed Biden ahead. However, one sign that turmoil was about to happen was this Des Moines Iowa Register poll that showed 48%-41% in favor of Trump. This poll was dismissed by Harry Anton of CNN in favor of the CNN poll that showed Biden up by 4.

November 7, 2020 Well, we all know that the polls were wrong — again. These polls were almost the same as 2016. All the polls favored democrats picking up seats in the U.S. Senate to take over the majority simply didn’t happen. The democrats in the U.S. House actually lost some seats, although they still have the majority. However, the polls in Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania were right — but closer than the end.

Moreover, the worst thing about the election is how the media is acting. Trump made a choice to politicize mail-in ballots. He told his voters to turn out on the day of the election, and boy did they turn out. Trump managed to make people come out for him that no one could predict. In contrast, Biden managed to turn out people to vote too. Biden is the only candidate in U.S. election history to have more votes cast for him — even more votes than were cast for Obama. Also, Trump has the second highest vote numbers in history. In the end close to 85% of the electorate cam out and voted.

As States count the vote, most of the remaining votes are mail-in ballots. As I mentioned earlier, that vote count skews for Biden — 60–80%.

The sad truth is that the media could have called this election two days ago, but why they aren’t is actually quite sinister. The truth is that they are stringing along the public for sake of ratings and ad revenue. The longer this drags out — the more money they make. The more money they make the happier they become. Also, the longer it takes the harder it will be for Biden to start working, and more sinister — the longer this goes on the trump message of a “rigged election” sticks to Americans. A Biden presidency will not be good for the media. Sure, Trump will be tweeting outrageous shit, but he won’t be doing it in the context of president. The Biden Administration will have some level of normalcy, and that will not be able to translate to TV ratings. CNN and MSNBC will go back to their dismal ratings under a democratic administration.

Let’s face it, democrats don’t watch the news when “our guy” is in office.

CNN and MSNBC are not calling the election because of something that FOX News did. Fox called Arizona for Biden early on. According to FOX and even Yahoo — Biden is at 264 in the Electoral College. Why in the World would Fox give Biden Arizona, a predominately red state, a win and be hesitant to give Biden Nevada, a predominately blue State?

Fox calculated that if they were the first to come out with this then the others would follow, and in an effort to be first — the other networks would call Nevada for Biden to get him to 270. Biden would then take the stage to claim victory, and if 2 weeks down the line something happened to negate the decision it will make Biden illegitimate, and it would confirm the narrative that Trump has launched at the mainstream media as “fake news”. The Country would be in turmoil, protests would erupt and the World would look at us in horror, as well as excitement in the fact that the Country that preaches the greatness of democracy is failing in that endeavor. So, let us be patient. Yes, the media does not want to call the election — even though all the ballots left to count favor Biden. If the tables were turned the media would’ve called the election for Trump — no doubt.

We need to reassess our duties and allegiances as Americans. What is our purpose? Should we be living our lives immersed in social media or cable news? Should we be fighting with people we label as our enemies, or should we be engaging with people we label as our loved ones?

Politics shouldn’t have to ruin relationships. Sadly, racism or perceived racism has come out and tainted the views we had of people who we once admired. Democrats have one way of seeing Trump republicans. Trump republicans have one way of seeing Democrats, and since politics is an art of the zero sum gain — there are winners and there are losers. It’s just a statement of fact, and the winners and losers are created at the end of a campaign. However, it really shouldn’t have to be that way. I spent the last four years crying my “liberal tears”, and I know the MAGA crowd

We actually have way more in common with each other than we want to admit. The average liberal has more in common with the average Trumper. We both experience levels of inequality. We experience storms due to climate change. We are forced to maneuver around this invisible disease — COVID. It’s just that both sides believe that they are right, that they don’t want to meet in the middle — at the truth.

I labeled the media as sinister. I accused them of stringing this along for ratings, and some of this is affirmed by the accuses that are made by John King of CNN and Steve Kornacki of NBC/MSNBC. However, I also made the claim about them scared to call it as to not be wrong and be forever labeled as “fake news”. These two things — somewhat true — must be weighed differently. I, like many, err on the side of caution. Biden IS the President-elect. It will happen, and I feel better about this now than I did 2 hours into the election.

However, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday November 7, 2020 the media made the projection. Joseph R. Biden has been elected as the 46th President of The United States and Kamala Harris will be the first female Vice-President and African-American/Asian American.

All this talk of a center-right nation we just seem to occupy two sides of a cliff. At one point, one party is about to fall and no one will be in position to catch them. What are we to do then?
